Gameday central: Michigan State at Indiana

Indiana hasn’t won back-to-back games since Jan. 3.

The Hoosiers will try to fix that on Saturday against No. 6 Michigan State.

It’s another Quadrant 1 opportunity for Indiana, which already owns five Quad 1 wins on the season. Michigan State has won its last five games, including a 77-70 victory at then-No. 7 Michigan on Sunday. The Spartans are No. 6 in the NET rankings and have 10 Quad 1 wins, tied for the most nationally.

“Anytime you’re playing Michigan State, you have to start with transition defense,” IU coach Archie Miller said. “They play fast and get easy baskets on makes and misses. They got us a couple times when we were there. We have to get back. You have to take care of the ball and can’t let defense kill you.”

De’Ron Davis will be available for the game, but whether he starts will be a gametime decision. Davis has been sick all week and did not practice after the Wisconsin game. If he’s unable to start, Justin Smith will get the nod.
