Jackson-Davis wins fifth B1G freshman of week honor

Indiana forward Trayce Jackson-Davis earned his fifth Big Ten freshman of the week honor on Monday.

The 6-foot-9 native of Greenwood recorded a pair of double-doubles in wins over Minnesota and Penn State. He opened with a career-high 27 points and 16 rebounds versus the Gophers, following with 13 points and 10 boards against the Nittany Lions.

IU is now 9-0 when Jackson-Davis posts a double-double.

With his fifth award, Jackson-Davis trails only Illinois’ Kofi Cockburn, who has won or shared the award seven times. The two post players will face off this coming week, when the Hoosiers head to Illinois on Sunday.
