No. 1 rooter for the Indiana basketball team in the finals of the National Collegiate tourney against Kansas Saturday night at Kansas City probably will be Mr. Everett Dean, head net coach at Stanford University. Dean, who coached here until he went to the West Coast at the start of the 1938-’39 season, is making the trip from Palo Alto to Kansas City to see his former Hoosiers play and attend the sessions of the National Coaches’ association convention. Captain Marvin Huffman, Ralph Dorsey, and Jay McCreary played under Dean at Indiana, while most of the other boys were freshmen on the local campus when Dean did the hardwood tutoring here. Dean will return to Bloomington for a visit with old friends following Saturday night’s contest.
