Stirring the Gordon story again….

Well, it’s been a relatively quiet week in our favorite drama, As Eric Gordon Gets Recruited. (During which, of course, the world actually stops turning).

We probably don’t know anything more than we did before Eric Gordon showed up for his visit in Bloomington. The kid is confused — which he certainly has the right to be — and is taking his time to make some sort of decision.

No news on what Gordon is doing this weekend, but if I were him I’d probably just take it easy, maybe grill a few steaks, watch some football and spend time with friends. I’d also glance over my shoulder every .27 seconds to make sure no crazed Illinois or Indiana fan is stalking me. Just a thought.

Anyway, Gary Parrish again has his thoughts on the Gordon Saga, this time in the form of a mailbag. Parrish is well on his way to being named Hoosier Scoops’ Top National Basketball Columnist working for CBS, but we’ll wait until he’s proven he can be consistently excellent. We’ve got high standards. Read his story here.

  1. What about this from Andy Katz:

There could be another surprise this weekend, though. The Irish may get a visit, unofficially, from Eric Gordon of North Central High in Indianapolis. Gordon, who committed to Illinois, is still being recruited by Indiana and, to some extent, Notre Dame, in large part because the family hasn’t shut the door or changed the phone number. Gordon took an unofficial visit to Indiana last weekend to play hoops with fellow summer-league teammate Derrick Rose of Chicago.

    Curioser and curioser …
