Sampson opens a practice…to students

This just came across the e-mail from Pete Rhoda, Indiana media relations guru.

HOOSIERS HOST OPEN PRACTICE FOR STUDENTS ON NOV. 2BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Head Basketball Coach Kelvin Sampson is opening the Hoosiers’ Nov. 2 practice to IU students. Practice begins at 4 p.m. at Branch McCracken Court at Assembly Hall. Students should enter the arena through the south loge doors or the north loge doors and sit in the west stands.

More than 14,000 fans saw IU officially tip off the season at Hoosier Hysteria on Oct. 13, and Sampson welcomes another opportunity to showcase the program to the students.

“On behalf of our staff and team, we sincerely thank the fans for the incredible reception that they gave our team at Hoosier Hysteria,” Sampson said. “When you have 13 new guys to coach, there has been a lot of teaching the last two weeks. Our players will compete their hearts out every single night. IU students, alumni and fans have an unbelievable passion for this program and deserve nothing less.”
