Fort Wayne WR/DB commits to Indiana

Fort Wayne Harding junior wide receiver/defensive back Marquelo Suel has given a verbal commitment to play football at IU, according to the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette.

Suel was an all-conference defensive back last season and as a receiver caught 50 passes for 959 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Class 2A state champs.

    Sounds like this kid could be a really good player by the time he gets on campus. This is what I found out about him.

    6-3 180 4.4 40-speed, great hands. 50 catches this year for FW Harding State champion team, avg around 20 yards per catch….scored 15 td’s. (not 12 according to a Harding coach)…..4 in one half vs FT. Wayne Northrop (3 rec 1 int return).

    First year in track right now, 50.2 second 400, 22.2 second in the 200, great leaper, is Football smart (called Harding’s defenses on the field), Plays strong safety on defense, wants to play wide receiver at IU.

  2. Mike, I agree with you that Suel sounds like a good college prospect. I talked with is coach yesterday and he told me the same thing – that Suel has size, speed, smarts and very good hands.

    I’ll have a story with some more details about Marquelo in the newspaper and on tomorrow.
