Wilmont hoping to find a spot in the NBA

Former Indiana guard Rod Wilmont is hoping he’ll be able to land a spot on an NBA summer team in the next couple days.

Wilmont, who graduated from Indiana in May, worked out in Reno, Nevada this spring. He was flown in for workouts by several NBA teams, including New Jersey, Boston and New York. He tried to show them that he could do more than shoot the 3-pointer.

The 6-4 shooting guard from Mirimar, Fla., is convinced that he can make an impact on a summer team and eventually sign an NBA contract.

Wilmont also shared his thoughts on the current Indiana freshmen, who he’s been playing pick-up basketball with almost every day.

  1. I hope he can. He’s a hard worker who seems to have
a good attitude. It would be fun to watch him in the NBA.
