Windy City is muggy

Doug and I have arrived here in Chicago, where the Big Ten Media Daze begins tomorrow morning.

We’re staying in Hyde Park tonight, which, according to our waitress tonight, is the home of Barack Obama. We searched for him for a while — at one point we had a six pack of beer with which to entice him into hanging out — but he never appeared. He’s probably campaigning somewhere. Oh well. I’m convinced that after a few minutes of hanging out with Doug he would have asked our esteemed sports editor to join him on the campaign trail as a potential VP candidate.

We’ll hear from all the Big Ten coaches tomorrow morning.  I’ll do my best to live blog all the talk and help you guys feel like you are here. Too bad you can’t also head out with us tomorrow night for some cold brews on a nice Chicago summer night. I’d love to get done with all our work in time to head out to Wrigley Field for a game, since my favorite team happens to be in town. We’ll work on it.
