Pritchard commits to Hoosiers

Thanks to HoosierNation.com and Scout.com for allowing us to use this picture.Indiana’s 2008 basketball recruiting class has a fourth member in Tom Pritchard of Lakewood, Ohio.

Pritchard is a 6-foot-8, 240-pound power forward who’s a senior at St. Edward’s High School. He committed to the Hoosiers Monday shortly after making a recruiting visit to Bloomington over the weekend.

Pritchard was being recruited primarily by smaller schools until his strong play over the summer brought scholarship offers from Penn State and then Indiana. He is known more for having good basketball skills and for his physical play than for being gifted athletically, according to several reports about his play this summer.

Scout.com ranks Pritchard as the 40th-best power forward in the class of 2008. He is not among Scout.com’s Top 100 players in the class.

Pritchard joins forward Devin Ebank and guards Bud Mackey and Matt Roth in IU’s 2008 class.

We’ll give you more information about this new Hoosier recruit as we receive it.
