Update from Waldo: one WMU DB out, another ????

We’ve found Waldo and we’re seated in the pressbox there getting ready for tonight’s game.

I’ve just gotten an update from the Western Michigan media relations director on the banged-up Western Michigan secondary. That secondary, which is considered the strength of the Bronco defense, has one starter out and another starter listed as questionable for this game.

Free safety Louis Delmas, who started all 11 games last season and last week’s opener against West Virginia, will miss tonight’s game with an undisclosed injury.

Cornerback Londen Fryar, an all-MAC first-team pick last season, is questionable to play tonight, also with an undisclosed injury. Fryar is listed on tonight’s depth chart as No. 2 at his usual starting cornerback spot.

For Indiana, second-string safety Joe Kleinsmith is the only player out for this game. He didn’t make the trip after injuring a hamstring on an interception return last Saturday.

We drove through some hard rain this afternoon in getting here, but so far the skies are pretty clear in Kalamazoo. The Hoosiers have to be thinking that with some good weather and a short-handed WMU secondary, this could be a good night for their passing game.
