What a busy time it’s been lately for IU sports coverage. We had the release last week of IU’s report to the NCAA on new recruiting violations followed by IU’s basketball exhibition opener against North Alabama.

Last weekend, we also covered the big football win over Ball State to make the Hoosiers bowl eligible for the first time since 1994.

This week, there was the much-anticipated Tyler Zeller announcement. And there was also been the growing buzz this week about many of IU’s basketball games not being available to cable subscribers this season. This afternoon, Chris will cover a weekly IU basketball press conference in which Kelvin Sampson and Eric Gordon are supposed to be available to reporters.

This weekend, we’ll cover a huge IU football game at Northwestern Saturday at noon, along with the second basketball exhibition game Saturday night against UNC-Pembroke. So we’ll split up for that one, with Zak, photographer Chris Howell and I heading to Evanston Friday and Chris and Lynn Houser staying here to cover the basketball game.

Also this weekend, we’ll have stories about Indiana’s Big Ten regular season champion men’s soccer team competing in the Big Ten tournament in East Lansing.

Then the Hoosier basketball season will officially begin Monday night with a game against Chattanooga at Assembly Hall.

So, yeah, there’s a thing or two going on. Why not set aside that work you’re supposed to be doing so you can chat about Hoosiers sports this morning? You can send us your insightful questions and comments, as well as your random thoughts and rants, by clicking here.

  1. Thanks, Jeff! I don’t know how I screwed up the link the first time (just talented, I guess), but I think it’s fixed now.
