White expected to play against Purdue

That according to Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson, who told Don Fischer as much on his radio show moments ago.

UPDATE: Sampson went on to say “D.J. will play” later in the radio show.

But in the hallway afterwards, he said: ““We have two days of rest. Dr. Rink and Tim and D.J., I leave that up to them if D.J. can go. Like D.J. could not go the other night. OK, we’ll play without him.”

Interpret as you will.

  1. I will believe it when I see it. I think CKS is just playing games with Purdue. We have been down this road before.

  2. i just read on ESPN that Sampson is saying “iffy”…what gives??…if it is a hyperextended knee as reported, we dodged a bullet there:)
    Get well DJ!!:)

  3. I don’t think CKS is playing games. He has always said the decision if up the the medical staff and the player, and if one says no, the player doesn’t play. As I recall in the MSU game the medical staff said he could play the second half, but DJ said he didn’t feel right, and CKS didn’t play him.

  4. Here are some nuggets I grabbed off http://pregame.com regarding tonight’s action.

Purdue has won 5 straight conference road games for the first time since the 1995-96 season. The Boilermakers have never won 6 straight conference road games.

The Hoosiers have posted an impressive 32-1 record when scoring 70 points or more under head coach Kelvin Sampson. Indiana may have trouble reaching that number, as Purdue is allowing just 60.5 points per game on the season.

Purdue is 11-1 ATS in its last 12 games overall.
Purdue is 13-3 ATS in its last 16 road games.
Purdue is 22-6 ATS in its last 28 games vs. Big Ten.
Purdue is 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Indiana.

  5. I don’t think they will risk DJ just to win one game. I hate Purdue but I’d rather lose tonight and have a healthy DJ for the conference and NCAA tourney.
