IU soccer wins in OT

Indiana took a 2-0 lead early in the second half only to see Evansville rally to tie it and force overtime Tuesday night at Black Beauty Field in Evansville.

But the Hoosiers bounced back with Will Bruin scoring his second goal of the game three minutes into overtime for a 3-2 win.

This was Indiana’s first trip to Evansville since 1998 when the Hoosiers pulled out a 2-1 overtime victory on Aleksey Korol’s goal in the 94th minute.

  1. large vocal crowd. IU played hard and created many scoring chances. Could have been up 3-0 at half if shots had been on goal. UE seemed to get frustrated in 2nd half picking up their agressiveness and fouling from behind. Bruin was a bear in the box all game and had to levae the game twice after fouls.

  2. Thanks for the on-scene update barry.
Sounded like a strong game for the Hoosiers, but they gave up the tying goal off a restart. That’s become a disconcerting trend this year.
