AD field narrowed to “roughly five people”

Bill Stephan’s search committee has narrowed the field for Indiana’s next athletic director down to “roughly five people,” university spokesman Larry MacIntyre said today.

“Bill Stephan and some others are involved in some very detailed due diligence,” he said. “With each person in this group, there’s a very thorough check of their resumes and other things. I would assume at some point, one or more of these people will be interviewed by president (Michael) McRobbie.”

MacIntyre could not say who the five candidates were, and could neither confirm nor deny that Oregon State athletic director Bob De Carolis and current Varsity Club director Scott Dolson are being considered for the position.

McRobbie has not set a timetable for naming Rick Greenspan’s replacement.

“President McRobbie’s only goal is to find an extremely qualified individual who is going to do a super job,” MacIntyre said.
