De Carolis has interviewed

Oregon State athletic director Bob De Carolis has apparently traveled to the Midwest to discuss becoming Indiana’s next athletic director.

Oregon State basketball coach Craig Robinson, the brother-in-law of Barack Obama who De Carolis hired to take over the Beavers, told reporters at practice that De Carolis talked to him about his trip.

“I only talked to Bob once during this,” Robinson told the Portland Oregonian. “He told me he was going out there.”

Robinson also said that De Carolis was one of the reasons he took the job at Oregon State but that he would have “no hard feelings” if De Carolis left.

It’s unclear who De Carolis interviewed with, though. Could his trip have been related to the vetting process apparently being conducted, or was it to actually interview for the job with the man making the decision, university president Michael McRobbie.

Stay tuned.
