  1. Thank you, IU. You are the first person in this chatroom with some sense in a long time. Although, I do disagree slightly – they will win 1 more game.

  2. How does a team like Minny that won only 1 game last year end up where they are and IU has dropped off like they have??? IU lost a great WR and a decent DB and that is it! IU is taking a step backward. I blame the coaching staff for all of this. The offense is awful, just awful and I am so sick of IU running a soft back up the middle. I think they did it twice today on first and second downs. I am so upset right now. This was going to be a 6 or 7 win season and with the schedule next year, who knows. I hope IU has the balls to let the coaching staff all go, yes I said it. If not, Lynch should walk. He has the nerve to get in Ray’s face about a penalty and he got a bench call last week, come on. I am sick about all of this. The coaches played head games with Finch and Lewis and shook their confidence and now last week they did not start Middleton, come on. Canada is just AWFUL!!! I am done and sorry to rant. I wonder if they would kick me out of the stadium next week for wearing a FIRE LYNCH shirt?

  3. J Pat- This is happening year after year. You have Big Ten programs that win one, two games, then take off after that and have big years. IU, on the other hand, goes 2,3, 4-0 to start every season, and then ends up 4-7, 5-7, 7-6. They are permanently entrenched in mediocrity. How can you ever improve when your goal is to go to the Motor City Bowl every year? The fans and administration have stubbornly low standards, and the Lynch hire was just awful. Some say that after the Sampson mess, Greenspan had to go with a “safe”, “feel-good” hire, and it happened, so now look what we are stuck with.

  4. WE NEED TO FIRE LYNCH, WTF ARE WE DOING.. THIS GUY DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN AN OFFENSE #1, WHEN SOMETHING WORKS, HE GOES AWAY FROM IT..WTF?! KEEP CHAPPELL AND KELLEN IN THE GAME YOU FREAKIN IDIOT, IT WORKED LAST WEEK AND YOU SCREWED THAT ONE UP TOO!

  5. lynch and his staff suck. Including his pee brained kid. They are a lid major level coach WTF ate they doing at Iu. What a joke

  6. My patience has worn out. Watching us play MSU last week, I seen a team that looked improved. Then I watched that despicable display today.

I’m not going on the rant the JPat did, not yet anyway. Come on IU, name the new AD and make his first official job to fire this staff.

  7. JPat,

I have never read you so animated. I feel exactly the same way, but I am resigned to the fact that we are stuck with this staff for at least one more season.

Surely this train wreck has been revealing itself to all who are paying attention since this season began. This was indeed, and always appeared to me to be, an emotionally motivated hire with little strong evidence to support it. Yes we went to a bowl game 1 season, but look for a moment at the longer coaching record. This really is not too big of a surprise.

We have a good recruiter that is not producing the play that his talent seems capable of.

I won’t quit rooting for the team, or going to the games, but I am not optimistic at all about the outcome.

Last comment–I like to listen to the call-in radio show after the game. The two guys that host that really have their hands full with the callers. It just kills me to hear Don Fischer or any of the other commentators remark how much improved __fill in the blank__ looks this year. Almost everybody else seems to be so much more improved! Do the Hoosiers look much improved?

  8. Kevin-

Central Michigan. By two. Other than that, it is over. FIRE BILL LYNCH….HIRE __________ (fill in the blank) ex-NFL coach…

  9. I enjoyed reading all of the comments. I am sorry about the rant Mike but it had to be done. I am so confused as to how this team is playing. Kevin, thanks for the words and Husky…I hear ya. I needed to vent big time. I want to win so bad, I want IU to play good football that is all. It is sad what we are all seeing. Take care.

  10. J Pat,

Don’t be sorry. The only reason I didn’t go a rant yesterday is Doug or Chris would have had to delete my post. I couldn’t think of how to say it minus every expletive in the book.

I have had days it has sucked being a Hoosier fan. I was sick after the BSU game, today I am absolutely disgusted.

Yesterday was a disgrace by the offense. Minnesota came into that game giving up on average 21.4 ppg, we could only manage 7, and that was a a pass by a QB that only got to toss 3 balls all day.

The defense on the other hand came to play. 16 points is less than 1/2 of Minnesota’s 33.2ppg average, and is 5 less than Ohio State allowed them to score. It was also less than the 20ppg game average on the season. You can put 3 of Minnesota’s points directly on the 2nd Kellen Lewis fumble. I would even go as far as putting their last score on the offenses failure to move the ball and give the defense a rest.
