IU women vs. Butler

FINAL: HOOSIERS 63, BULLDOGS 41

Lindsay Enterline gets her first points as a Hoosier, while Haylie Linn and former North standout Lydia Serfling join the fray for the final minute of IU’s fifth straight victory.

3:37, SECOND HALF: Only the final score still in doubt here as Butler just has nothing in them to make a run, even when Indiana gets a little sloppy as they have several times tonight. HOOSIERS 61, BULLDOGS 36

9:48, SECOND HALF: Coach Jack has a young lineup of freshmen Ashlee Mells, Lindsay Enterline and Danilsa Andujar in the game with sophomore Andrea McGuirt and senior Whitney Thomas for a time. It didn’t really work out that well, but hopefully they learned something because Jack was giving plenty of advice heading to that timeout. Starters Jamie Braun and Kim Roberson are back now. HOOSIERS 52, BULLDOGS 33

15:19, SECOND HALF: Kim Roberson continues to shoot the ball well and Amber Jackson finally missed a shot. Felisha Legette-Jack is going deeper into her bench now with Lindsay Enterline and Danilsa Andujar into the game for the first time. HOOSIERS 48, BULLDOGS 25

INJURY UPDATE

Just a minute before the second half starts, but a quick update on Sasha Chaplin. The freshman is back on the court watching the Hoosiers warm up with a brace on her left knee. It doesn’t look like she will play anymore tonight, but I was told the doctors checked her out and she should be OK. No official diagnosis, but looks like just a sprain, which is good news. IU will need her size in Big Ten play, which starts Dec. 20 at Assembly Hall vs. Northwestern. HOOSIERS 39, BULLDOGS 20

HALFTIME

Indiana’s halftime lead is its biggest of the game thanks to a 14-1 run. Kim Roberson hit a 3 with a minute to go, and Amber Jackson added a 13-footer with 20 seconds remaining to cap things off. Jackson leads the way with 12 points, Roberson has 10 and Whitney Thomas 7. Thomas also has 7 rebounds and Jackson hauled in 4 boards. HOOSIERS 39, BULLDOGS 20

3:07, FIRST HALF: Indiana building the lead here late in the half. First a 6-0 run, now a 9-0 burst that includes a Whitney Thomas 3-pointer, her third of the season. Also, Amber Jackson doing nothing to hurt her standing as one of the nation’s best in field goal percentage. She is 5-of-5 for 10 points. HOOSIERS 34, BULLDOGS 19

8:16, FIRST HALF: Teams are just trading baskets, but right now we have an injury timeout for 6-foot-3 freshman Sasha Chaplin, who hit the deck holding her left knee after making a fastbreak layup. She is immediately helped to the locker room by the training staff, and it certainly didn’t look good. HOOSIERS 19, BULLDOGS 13

11:58, FIRST HALF: Come for the basketball, stay for the defense. The scoreboard’s not moving much, but a lay-in by Amber Jackson followed by a Whitney Thomas steal leads to a Kim Roberson layup to give Indiana its largest lead. HOOSIERS 11, BULLDOGS 6

15:50, FIRST HALF: At the first break, IU leads, but the play for the Hoosiers has been spotty at best. Butler has come out very aggressive. Indiana needs to get the ball in the post to Amber Jackson and company more. HOOSIERS 7, BULLDOGS 6

PREGAME

We’re just minutes away from the tip at Assembly Hall as the Indiana women’s basketball team plays their first home game in over two weeks, taking on in-state rival Butler. Hoosiers have won four straight heading into tonight’s game, while the Bulldogs have won two in a row. More shortly.

  1. went to the game and had a blast. My kids love it sitting down low. It was more sloppy than usual but a great win. They play so hard and as a team! IU women bball will finish better this year than they were projected!
