Tough day for IU women

Tied at 33 midway through the second half, Illinois went on a 12-0 run that was too much for the Indiana women’s basketball team to overcome. It was one of those days for the Hoosiers (14-4, 7-2), who shot a dreadful 28.6 percent from the field in the game. Illinois matched that in the first half, but hit nearly 58 percent in the second half to pull away.

The Illini got 24 points and 15 rebounds from 6-foot-3 center Jenna Smith, while Jori Davis led IU with 14 points. Amber Jackson was the only other Hoosier in double figures with 10.
