The Jordan Hulls Basketball Camp

Jordan Hulls signed with Indiana. He led South to a 4A state championship. He won Mr. Basketball.
Which means he will have his own basketball camp.
The Monroe County YMCA is hosting the Jordan Hulls Basketball Camp during June.
The camp, which will run from June 1-5 (for 6-9 year olds) and June 15-19 (for 10-14 year olds), is for three hours a day and will seek to teach different drills and the game of basketball in a noncompetitive manner, said Matt Osgood, the YMCA’s youth and adult sports director.
And there is, well, the fact that Hulls is the headlining star.
Osgood said the YMCA has done this in the past, for former area stars like Jonathan Holmes and Errek Suhr.
But Holmes and Suhr both hosted camps after their college eligibility had run out. Hulls will start college classes during the month of June, in between the camp and playing for the Indiana Allstars.
NCAA rules allow for Hulls to participate in sports camps or clinics. If he is there coaching, officiating or in a supervisor role, he has to be paid at the going rate. If he is there to lecture or perform a demonstration, he cannot be paid.
Osgood said Hulls will be paid as a part-time staff member, and that Hulls’ father, J.C., has cleared everything through Indiana.
“The last thing I want to do is cause any more trouble for IU,” Osgood said.
Those interested can sign up at the YMCA front desk or online at the YMCA site.
The camp cost is $60 for members, $110 for nonmembers, and will run from 9 a.m.-noon each day.

  1. My 6 year old is signed up for this camp and he has mentioned “Jordan Hulls Basketball Camp” at least once a day, every day, for the past two months! He is just a little excited!

I think it is great that Jordan is doing this camp at the YMCA and I appreciate all the hard work Matt puts in to the youth sports programs at the YMCA. My kids are definitely fans of both!

  2. This should be a great camp. Oz does a fantastic job over there. I used to work part time for him as Assistant Sports Director (though he titled the position Assistant to the Sports Director).

  3. Way to give back Jordy,…you once again show us the class act that you and your family are!!
