Crean Speaking At IU Auditorium

Bloomington, Indiana – The Indiana Memorial Union Board announced today that IU men’s basketball coach Tom Crean will give a public address to the Indiana University student body on Wednesday, September 23 at 7 pm at the IU Auditorium. The lecture will be free to the public and will conclude with an extended question and answer session, with an autograph session to follow.

For decades, the Union Board has invited the men’s basketball coach to speak to students and preview the upcoming season This address will mark the second year for the revival of that tradition.

“We’re excited to provide students with a chance to directly interact with Coach Crean,” said Caitlin Van Kooten, Union Board Lectures Director. “He is returning IU men’s basketball to a proud Hoosier tradition and we’d like to support his efforts by rebuilding a tradition of our own.”

In his remarks, Crean will discuss the importance of strong student-body and campus support for the program, his vision for the future of IU basketball, his thoughts on leadership, and what it means to be a Hoosier.

“It is always an honor to get in front of the campus community as the head basketball coach at Indiana University,” said Crean. “They play a big part in the success of this program.”

The lecture will be co-sponsored by the IU Auditorium and IU Athletics.
