Irving says home visit went well

Kyrie Irving has given several interviews since Indiana coach Tom Crean visited his home this weekend, and he didn’t reveal a lot more to the Herald-Times than to the rest of interviewers. No commitment is imminent, and he said he will still probably take all of his official visits before he makes a decision.

He did say it went well, he said he’s met with Crean and the IU staff enough times that there wasn’t much more they could tell him.

“I couldn’t ask anything more from the coaching staff,” the five-star point guard from Elizabeth, N.J., said by phone Monday. “I’ve met with them a couple of times. This was more about them meeting with my father and the rest of my family.”

Not that that isn’t important.

“They not only have to recruit me, they have to recruit my family,” Irving said. “So that’s a major part.”

Irving said his family had a good impression of IU.

He still has home visits from Texas A&M and Connecticut. Duke and Georgia Tech have already visited. He has official visits scheduled to Duke on Sept. 26, Indiana on Oct. 3 and Texas A&M on Oct. 9.
