Kentucky at Indiana soccer

FINAL
Indiana played nearly everybody in a very dominating performance. Not much else to say. HOOSIERS 3, WILDCATS 0

SECOND HALF
12:10: Indiana getting a lot of people in the game now with sophomore Tyler McCarroll, redshirt freshman Joe Tolen and freshman Kevin Bick joining redshirt freshman Blevins on the pitch. South grad Caleb Konstanski set to check in as well. HOOSIERS 3, WILDCATS 0

26:24: Once again, it looked like a scoring chance might escape IU, but the ball wound up at the feet of Rich Balchan, who fed Adlard on the left side of the box for his second goal of the game. Just two minutes later, Will Bruin got loose down the middle of the field and laid the ball off to Nick Blevins, who volleyed the ball home. HOOSIERS 3, WILDCATS 0

HALFTIME
We’ve completed 45 minutes of play tonight, and Indiana if firmly in control of this one. The 1-0 score really belies the dominance of the Hoosiers. IU has four shots to Kentucky’s one — that came on a wide header off a corner kick. HOOSIERS 1, WILDCATS 0

FIRST HALF
15:58: After a near-miss when Lee Hagedorn’s cross failed to connect with Will Bruin, Eric Alexander collects the loose ball on the left side of the field and serves the ball in where Andy Adlard was waiting to head it home. Adlard replaced a shaken up Daniel Kelly eight minutes earlier, and the Hoosiers have their first first-half goal of the season. HOOSIERS 1, WILDCATS 0

30:40: Last year, Indiana scored in a record six seconds on the way to a 1-1 tie. We’re still waiting for our first shot by either side in this game. Will Bruin was down with an injury to his right leg. He’s up and walking now, but IU could ill afford to lose him.

PREGAME
I’m at Armstrong Stadium tonight for the Hoosiers’ first home game in over three weeks. Indiana is up to No. 9 in the rankings this week, while Kentucky comes in at No. 13. I’ll keep you updated on the happenings here all night. Also, I’ll be tweeting updates at http://twitter.com/JPPrice.

Hoosiers’ starting lineup is slightly different than it was when they last played at home. Senior Darren Yeagle and freshman Matt Wiet are both in the lineup in lieu of Alec Purdie and Andy Adlard. Not sure of Adlard’s status, but I’ll try to find out.
