Fisher out, several questionable

Bill Lynch removed any doubts about Ray Fisher’s status this week by putting it flatly: he won’t play.

Fisher, who injured his knee during the opening kickoff Saturday against Iowa, is listed as out this week with a knee injury. Lynch said he will have surgery tomorrow, but that he wouldn’t rule him out from playing the rest of the season.

Defensive end Darius Johnson (shoulder), defensive back Chris Adkins (elbow) and defensive tackle Jarrod Smith (back) are also listed as out in this week’s injury report.

The list of players with questionable status is lengthy. For running back Zach Davis-Walker (foot), safety Jarrell Drane (thigh), safety Jerimy Finch (hamstring) it’s an upgrade from their statuses last week. Safety Nick Polk is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. He missed Saturday’s game, even though he wasn’t listed on injury reports leading up to the game.

The unfortunate news for the Hoosiers, though, is three players who weren’t as bad as questionable last week are on the injury report this week. That includes running back Darius Willis (ankle), offensive lineman Cody Faulkner (shoulder) and defensive lineman Terrance Thomas (shoulder). Defensive end Fred Jones, though, is probable this week. He’s been out all season with a foot injury.
