Sheehey to announce decision tomorrow

Will Sheehey, a 6-foot-5 guard/forward from Weston, Fla, will announce his college decision at 10 a.m. Monday.

Sheehey, a three-star prospect that Rivals lists as the No. 131 player in the country, confirmed that with the Indiana Daily Student.

Sheehey recently visited Indiana, but there had been some indications he would wait until the spring to sign.

It would be easy to suggest that the commitment of Jelan Kendrick to Memphis has pushed Sheehey over the edge with Indiana, since the prospects play similar positions.

Even easier to surmise that a contingent offer to play a wing position for IU has suddenly become a firm offer for Mr. Sheehey. Is there also a contingent PG offer out there?

  2. Sheehey would be a nice pick up for IU…also hard to think Selby would pick UK with Wall & Bledsoe already on board!

  3. To Peegs Sucks:

1 year of Selby is better than none. All the elite programs have this carousal of highly rated players coming and going. We need to get back to that, as well. It only took Carmelo Anthony 1 year to take Syracuse to the top didn’t it? Not saying that would happen here, but it sure couldn’t hurt.

  4. Will IU have a scholarship for Sheehey and Selby if they both commit? Or will it be a situation where someone has to transfer or lose their scholarship?

  5. I’m waiting for the complaining from IU signing a mere 3 star player. Some fan really believe all the 5 star players are lined up just waiting to be Hoosiers. They fail to appreciate IU is coming off a 6-25 season. Once IU shows they can compete again at a higher level the 5 stars will return. The fact they have had several looking at them is a good sign at this point.

  6. Will Sheehey, 6foot6/190lb wing just announced he will sign/is signing with IU. Sounds like a great young player, #131 Rivals now but should be top 100 by May 2009: last year (real statistics not from the coach but from the Palm Beach Post) 24.6 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists/game at South Fork HS in Stuart FL. This season he teams with 5 star 7 foot center Fabricio de Melo at Sagemont HS in Weston FL.
