Indiana gets another Replogle

Indiana’s recruitment of the Replogle family has worked well so far, so the Hoosiers apparently had no qualms with going back to that well again.

The IU football team’s first verbal commitment for the 2011 class comes from Centreville (Ohio) High School inside linebacker Mike Replogle, younger brother of IU rising senior linebacker Tyler Replogle and rising sophomore defensive tackle Adam Replogle. Centreville coach Ron Ullery, who also coached Replogle’s two older brothers, said Monday that the third Replogle made his commitment Friday.

It was an easy decision for both IU and Replogle to make. The Hoosiers knew his family well and Replogle obviously knew the school.

“They know what they’re getting,” Ullery said of Indiana. “I think most of the time, because of the recruiting rules, these college guys have some question in their minds about what type of kid they’re recruiting. In this case, they know exactly what they’re getting, because he’s just like the other two.”

Well, maybe not exactly the same. Mike obviously doesn’t have nearly the bulk as the 6-foot-3, 290-pound Adam, and Ullery says he might be a hair slower than Tyler. Mike is a little bit taller, though, at 6-3, 210.

But the most important trait they share, Ullery said, is that they are all coachable and students of the game.

“They’re never going to back off,” Ullery said. “If the coaches ask Mike to run through a brick wall, he’ll run through a brick wall, same as the other two.”

As a junior, the third Replogle led Centreville with 75 tackles, including five for loss. He also had two fumble recoveries and an interception. He helped Centreville to an 8-3 record and a playoff berth.

  1. Hoosier 97 – The Replogle’s are a bright spot on a rising team from a high school known for producing top talent.

HoosierFan – a name change is in order for you, who obviously do not understand the meaning of it.

  2. RJS- I like the brothers we have on the team now. They seem like hard workers, and they did make some big plays this year. Hopefully Mike can bulk up a bit, but I think this a good start to the recruiting season. Who knows maybe we can go bowling again year!
