IU football adds fourth recruit for 2011

Lawrence Central quarterback Tre Roberson has committed to Indiana for the class of 2011, a source confirmed Saturday.

Roberson is a 6-foot, 170-pound dual threat quarterback. More on this later.

UPDATE.

Lawrence Central coach Jason West confirms that Roberson has committed to Indiana. Tried to talk to him while watching the dunk contest at the Derby Classic. I heard him say that Roberson is dynamic, fast and agile and that he doesn’t have much of an ego, but that was about all I could hear. Will add more later.

  1. Seems to have the body type and athletic ability of former Hoosier, Kellen Lewis, but without the ego or self-destructive disposition.

  2. Kiel, Baker, Hughes and now Roberson all from in state and all fit the Pistol formation well. It pleases me to see a well thought out strategy in place and practicing the recruiting needed to create a match. It blends well with the other practices already in place, redshirting, JUCO’s, building depth leading to fifth year experience, the Pistol and adding a little 3-4 D. Getting the in state QB’s to IU will be a benefit in securing the high rated recruits from in state who play other positions that this program needs. Good job by Coach Lynch and staff for these early verbals.
