Live at Sembower Field, Iowa at Indiana

UPDATE, 4:18 p.m.

So apparently, they’re not gonna play. It’s been amazing to watch this actually. Basically, this game got cancelled because neither Indiana nor Iowa wanted to waste their ace or Friday starter on a game that might eventually wash out. It rained, literally for 2 1/2 minutes. It isn’t wet out there at all. But just in case it is later, they’re not playing. But I’m not gonna lie, I really appreciate the gamesmanship here. If you’re Tracy Smith, you’re not wasting Drew Leininger, no way, no how. Anyway, doubleheader tomorrow starting at 11 a.m.

UPDATE, 3:58 p.m.

They’re apparently going to give it a shot. First pitch set for 4:20 p.m.

UPDATE, 3:26 p.m.

There are still some storms in the area, apparently, so umpires will reconvene at 4 p.m. to determine whether or not to play this one.

—————————————

The rain started as soon as the national anthem singer game out. As hard as it was raining, no one moved until she finished.

And as soon as Indiana’s players got rolled out the tarp to try to cover the field, the rain stopped.

So despite the fact that it’s not raining, there’s a rain delay as officials try to determine if there’s something.

But just in case this game does happen at some point soon, the lineups follow.
