Uthoff also visiting Butler, Illinois, Notre Dame

Jarrod Uthoff, the 6-foot-8 junior forward from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who took an unofficial visit to Indiana on Wednesday, is apparently hitting up several other schools in driving distance. A source says Uthoff also visited Butler on Wednesday and will visit Notre Dame and Illinois.

Uthoff reportedly has offers from Arizona State, Creighton, Indiana State, Iowa State and Northern Iowa.

Southport guard Kellon Thomas also took an unofficial visit to Indiana on Wednesday.

  1. My guess is Guy-Marc Michel. Go to Jucojunction.com and look at the Top 150 JUCO’s for 2010. I beleive he is around the middle of the list.

  2. Peegs confirms that Guy-March Michel is supposed to visit this weekend. He has offers from Gonzaga and, surprise, surprise, Colorado. Played at Northern Idaho junior college. Supposed to be good defensively, raw offensively.

Cheir Ajou has an offer from New Mexico. He is H.S. class of 2011. He is also listed as having interest in IU.

  3. I have no faith in Michel (7 feet tall but only averaged 7 points at the JuCo level; plus we already have Bawa), but the limited amount I’ve read/seen of Ajou seems to be promising! Maybe it’s dreamland, but a front court of Jurkin, Ajou, and Perea would be awesome … think Plumlee brothers and Zoubek (of recent national championship fame), except better. Yes, yes, that is dreamland…

  4. Not to burst your bubble IUfan, but I saw Ajou play in person twice this year. He needs to improve to even be considered a project. Build like Manute Bol, except he never shoots from the outside. He had a handful of games where he didn’t even score. I realize he still has another year of HS, and he obviously has plenty of time to get better, but at this point he shouldn’t even be in the same sentence as Jurkin and Perea, or maybe even Bawa. He has a loooooong way to go.

He has that far to go.
