An update on Sallie: visit not expected on Saturday

Indiana-based sources are saying that Memphis transfer Roburt Sallie will not in fact be visiting IU this weekend, though FoxSports.com’s Jeff Goodman tweeted that such a visit was expected to happen. Attempts to get in touch with anyone in Sallie’s camp to confirm his plans have so far been unsuccessful.

Sallie, who averaged 10.5 points per game at Memphis last season, will graduate in August. He has one year of eligibility left and can transfer without having to sit out a season.

  1. So is he ever going to visit? Does Coach Crean have any interest in him playing at IU? Can we get some reporting on this?

  2. Why do people always want to screw with our basketball program? Pisses me off. It’s like anything IU basketball reported on Scoop has become one giant Debbie “4Tarballs” Downer. I’m laughing right now.

  3. BeatPurdue,
Been trying man. For real. Obviously, Crean can’t talk about him on the record. The only thing we can get from what I’ll call the Bloomington side of the story is that any visit that might happen isn’t happening this weekend. As for Sallie, well, let me just say that’s a really hard man to get in touch with.

  4. Dear 4guards, his Facebook friends, and all others hoping this silence is not good news….

I’m sorry this talented kid will soon be in a Hoosier uniform.

  5. You would think with 5 first round draft picks that they would have won a NCAA championship.
How does calapari do it? One would think that he would crash and burn..Someday

  6. I really don’t care if he comes to IU or not. I see both positives and negatives on the situation. No reason to stress because he is not coming here anyhow.

  7. That’s an incredible gift, 4Tarballs…There are many options for transfers..Sallie can play professional hoops in Europe..If he elects to play one more year of college ball, we are fighting against programs that are stacked with talent and positioned to have success in their conference and postseason tournaments. He has one year to make his final mark…You make your claims that a kid won’t choose Indiana. Brilliant. I also have a prediction..I predict you’ll soon bless Scoop bloggers with more disparaging remarks aimed at Tom Crean..Unmatched is our genius.

    How about some more predictions?

    ● Bruce Springsteen will have at least one more appearance in a Hoosier Morning YouTube music clip provided by Scoop.

    ● Zach Osterman will not wear his favorite argyle sweater on a ninety-six degree summer day(unless it’s a sleeveless vest and he goes with a lightweight baby blue contrasting cotton t-shirt underneath).

    ● Dustin Dopirak will never claim the interviewing of 16-year-old kid concerning the “scholarship crunch” was not influenced by a Chris Korman giving credence to the constant barrage of negative views from a specific blogger’s ridiculous rants.

    ● The IDS’s Hoosier Hype will have zero hits in a basketball comment section(unless they originate from blogger using multiple dumb-sounding screen names like “Zinjanthrohoops”)

    ● My parents, married for 54 years, will not divorce in 2010.

    ● Guy-Marc Michel will dominate the Big 10 at the post position this year.

See how it works? Quite impressive isn’t it?

  8. Correction:

    ● Dustin Dopirak will never forever claim the interviewing of 16-year-old kid concerning the “scholarship crunch” was not influenced by a Chris Korman giving credence to the constant barrage of negative views from a specific blogger’s ridiculous rants.

  9. Something tells me with this not being your normal recruiting or normal transfering scenario that there are a lot of both pros and cons that most of us have not thought about, don’t know about, or both so I think I’ll just trust Crean to make the right decision on this one…. if there is even a decision to be made.

Save the keystrokes 4guards I already know your views on any sentence that says anything about trusting Crean.

  10. What a joke this place is. You go away for months, and come back, and its the same old 4garbage.
