Wilson, Bolser, Ewald honored by Rivals.com

Tight end Ted Bolser was named a Freshman All-American by the Rivals.com while wide receiver Duwyce Wilson and kicker Mitch Ewald were named Freshman All-Big Ten.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Rivals.com has recognized Indiana tight end Ted Bolser, wide receiver Duwyce Wilson and kicker Mitch Ewald. Bolser earned a spot on the Freshman All-America Team, while all three redshirt freshmen were named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.

Bolser set an IU tight end record and tied for sixth nationally with five touchdowns. He also set Hoosier freshman tight end records with 27 catches and 407 yards.

The Cincinnati native finished 2010 with the sixth-most yards all-time among Indiana tight ends. Bolser collected the most yards for an IU tight end since 1991 and the most receptions for an IU tight end since 1992.

Wilson finished fourth on the team with 32 receptions and 488 yards, and led the team with 15.2 yards per catch to go along with three scores. The Columbus, Ind., native reached 60 yards three times, 50 yards five times and 40 yards on eight occasions.

He ended his debut campaign tied for second in receptions and third in yardage all-time among Indiana freshman wide receivers.

Ewald finished his first season as a Hoosier 16-for-19 on field goals. The 16 field goals tied Bill Manolopoulos for the third most on IU’s single-season list. In the extra point department, he went a perfect 33-for-33 on the year. The 33 extra points are the seventh most on the school’s single-season list.

The Naperville, Ill., native became the first Hoosier to collect Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors and the first to card Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week since 2007, following his game-winning field goal at Purdue.
