Big Ten releases Indiana’s schedule for 2013, 2014

So the Big Ten announced the conference football schedules for 2013 and 2014 today. They are below, along with known nonconference opponents and the 2012 schedule. There are obviously some missing dates, and the nonconference games could always be moved/postponed/canceled. While it is obviously hard to predict just who exactly the Big Ten elite will be going forward, 2013 (Kevin Wilson’s third year) looks to be quite tough – Navy and Missouri (both at home), and road trips to Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio State (the last two back-to-back before the Old Oaken Bucket game at home).

Indiana will not see Northwestern, Iowa or Nebraska.

  1. Haha.

While I am a huge IU football fan … I still find it funny and wildy optimistic to add the Big Ten Championship game to the Hoosiers schedule.

I hope and I will continue to support the team and program … but really???

  2. I think that’s just for general knowledge, bonsai.

So Hugh: are they considering a Friday Bucket Game in ’12??? Interesting. We played PU on a Friday in ’95, at home.

  3. It’s the first I have heard of it, though it seems it is a possibility. Scheduling games on Friday night is a great way to anger the high school football community, but it is late enough in the season (I seem to recall it usually running up against the state championships, which are Friday and Saturday) that you are not in competition any longer.

  4. – If the bucket game is the Friday / day after Thanksgiving the only high school game that evening is the Class 2A State Championship at Lucas. Actually less conflict than Saturday when you have the other three championship games.
    – Man I would really like to be a fly on the wall when Coach Wilson does a player by player evaluation when discussing the IU talent with his asst coaches. Certainly he reviewed film before accepting the job but practice and face to face contact tells a whole different story. The spring game shall tell us a lot as well as who starts the first game next fall and how many games are won by Thanksgiving…..can’t wait!

  5. At least wilson had film to watch….the only thing Crean had was the last 30 seconds of every other game to see what Taber had to offer
