Kentucky at IU soccer

Andy Graham is on the scene tonight as Indiana goes for a third straight win, hosting Kentucky at Armstrong Stadium. He’s having technical difficulties, but we’ll update you here.

56th minute: Indiana breaks on top courtesy of a penalty kick by Eriq Zavaleta, the eighth goal of the season for the freshman. HOOSIERS 1, WILDCATS 0

81st minute: Nikita Kotlov with a blast from 25 yards out that finds the top right corner to give IU a two-goal cushion. HOOSIERS 2, WILDCATS 0

FINAL Indiana wraps up a good win on a rainy, windy night. The Hoosiers prospered with the wind at their back in the second half, and the defense posted its seventh shutout of the year. HOOSIERS 2, WILDCATS 0

  1. It’s good see Kotlov getting back into the scoring column. Last year he had a pretty complete offensive game, I thought, he just need a little better vision. I know he was injured earlier this year, does he look healthy now on the field?

  2. Caleb Porter named the U.S. National Men’s National Team 23 and Under Soccer Coach (The Olympic Team). He will remain the coach at Akron. University of Akron just became the place to attend for national stars on the recruiting trail. Huge coup for them.

  3. Devin,
Kotlov definitely looks as healthy now as he’s been all season. He was even taking some throw-ins last night, which is an indication his back is feeling much better. Not sure he’s 100 percent conditioning-wise yet but getting there.

And, yes, well-done for Akron to allow Caleb Porter to coach the U-23 team and keep him on campus. Not sure this actually changes the recruiting dynamic that much, though. Porter already has established the Zips as a national power and is regularly getting top recruits.

Right now he’s got that program on a cycle comparable to John Calipari’s Kentucky basketball teams — a lot of one-and-done’s, plus some two-and-through’s in an effort to reload each year. It will be interesting to see how that strategy holds up.

  4. Nice to see the team is winning again. I’m still pissed they blew it against Louisville.

  5. Greetings from California! I’m bored to tears at work so I decided to check out your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the information you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m shocked at how fast your blog loaded on my mobile .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, amazing site!

  6. Admiring the hard work you put into your blog and detailed information you provide. It’s nice to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same outdated rehashed material. Wonderful read! I’ve saved your site and I’m including your RSS feeds to my Google account.

  7. As soon as I found this internet site I went on reddit to share some of the love with them. “A sect or party is an elegant incognito devised to save a man from the vexation of thinking.” by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

  8. Hi there, I need to ask you one thing. Is this a wordpress web site? My business is considering transferring our web log from Blogger to wordpress, you think that is probable? In addition did you create the following template yourself some how? Thanks for the assistance!

  9. Whats up, I needed to ask you one thing. Is this site a wordpress web log? My organization is considering switching my webpage from Blogger to wordpress, do you think this is doable? In addition did you produce this theme by yourself some how? Thanks a lot for the help!

  10. Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!

  11. In the great design of things you’ll secure a B+ for effort and hard work. Where exactly you lost everybody was on your specifics. As as the maxim goes, the devil is in the details… And it couldn’t be much more correct right here. Having said that, permit me tell you precisely what did work. The authoring is actually highly convincing and this is most likely why I am taking the effort to opine. I do not really make it a regular habit of doing that. 2nd, even though I can easily notice the jumps in reason you make, I am not necessarily sure of just how you seem to unite the points which make the actual conclusion. For now I shall subscribe to your position but wish in the near future you connect the dots better.
