Oladipo, Zeller earn Big Ten weekly honors

Indiana sophomore guard Victor Oladipo was named Big Ten Player of the Week this week after scoring a combined 37 points in the Hoosiers’ first two games and shooting 72.2 percent from the field.

Meanwhile, freshman forward Cody Zeller was named the Big Ten’s Co-Freshman of the Week, sharing the honor with Iowa’s Aaron White. In his first two college games, Zeller  averaged 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 1.5 blocks while shooting 77.8 percent from the floor. He recorded an IU freshman record six steals on Sunday after posting a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds against Stony Brook in is collegiate debut.

  1. A taller, faster version of a 4 time All American would be a good thing.
    I see them as different animals. TH had a motor that never stopped but I think Zeller is a more accomplished basketball player. That being said, if we have another TH I’m satisfied.

  2. I think he’s a better all around player than ty. Ty cant run the floor nearly as well either. At seasons end compare their freshman seosanal stats and “stats dont lie” Cody will lead in every stat except for wins and hopefully that stat won’t be inflated!! GO IU!!!
