3:39: After getting beat on the offensive glass most of the game, Indiana turns the tables courtesy of a pair of Georgie Jones putbacks to regain the advantage, but UIndy has yet another answer to go back in front. GREYHOUNDS 44, HOOSIERS 43

7:33: Much to most people’s surprise, the flags are waving, but Indiana is losing this game. Hoosiers are 2-of-8 at the line, 2-of-11 from 3 and losing on the glass — not a recipe for success. However, this will give us a look at how they handle some pressure down the stretch. GREYHOUNDS 40, HOOSIERS 38

11:30: Indiana with just five points in the second half and now losing the rebounding battle, 33-26. HOOSIERS 32, GREYHOUNDS 31

15:23: Indianapolis playing with confidence now and outplaying the Hoosiers, who look like five individuals out there against a five-woman team. HOOSIERS 29, GREYHOUNDS 29

HALFTIME
Mixing that big lineup with two point guards, Indiana sprinted to an 11-point lead, but a pair of long 3s by Megan Gardner helped UIndy end the half on an 8-2 run.

IU led in scoring by six points apiece from Quaneisha McCurty and Jasmine McGhee but trail in rebounding, 19-18. UIndy has 16 turnovers to IU’s 10. Hoosiers shooting just 37.5 percent from the floor. OV grad Nickole Gonser with two points and three rebounds for the Greyhounds. HOOSIERS 27, GREYHOUNDS 22

FIRST HALF
3:22: Indiana goes big with 6-6 McCurty, 6-4 Chaplin and 6-4 Stauere — and it works with Stauere hitting a 3, then McCurty scoring in the lane. HOOSIERS 21, GREYHOUNDS 12

6:02: Every time IU threatens to pull away, UIndy has an answer. Greyhounds not backing down and exposing some of the mistakes of youth by Indiana. HOOSIERS 16, GREYHOUNDS 10

11:54: A couple of quick baskets off the bench by Alisha Goodwin extends the IU advantage. Hoosiers still trying to find an offensive rhythm, but the defense has mostly forced UIndy to settle for contested 3s, if the Greyhounds get a shot. UIndy has 10 turnovers, while IU has five. HOOSIERS 10, GREYHOUNDS 3

15:36: First media break. IU went with the newcomers lineup tonight which included freshmen Necole Sterling and Quaneisha McCurty, plus JUCO transfers Linda Rubene and Jasmine McGhee, with sophomore Milika Taufa. That last three minutes before the more experienced Danilsa Andujar, Sasha Chaplin and Andrea Newbauer came in. HOOSIERS 6, GREYHOUNDS 2

PREGAME
Assembly Hall is the site for the final tuneup for the Indiana women’s basketball team. The Hoosiers host the University of Indianapolis, including Owen Valley grad Nickole Gonser, for tonight’s game. Nickole’s twin sister, Heather, is now a student manager for the Greyhounds but no longer a player. UIndy is an NCAA Division II squad.

IU is getting ready for Friday’s season opener at Central Arkansas, a member of the Southland Conference which fell one game short of the NCAA Tournament last year. Anyhow, stay tuned here and on Twitter for updates tonight.
