Hoosier Morning

IU’s win was worth the wait, especially for veteran starters Christian Watford and Verdell Jones, Dustin wrote.

My IU review, following Indiana’s huge upset win over Kentucky.

Sasha Chaplin’s free throws sink IUPUI at the end of the game, giving the Hoosier women a much-needed win.

It’s time to sing Tom Crean’s praises, Tim Etheridge of the Evansville Courier Press says.

Eamonn Brennan of ESPN says IU is back following over 1,300 days of being unranked. And they’re likely here to stay, at least for now.

Christian Watford’s confidence boost is showing now, especially after his career-game against Kentucky, Terry Hutchens of the IndyStar wrote.

Ben Smith of the Journal Gazette says the Hoosiers deserve to party after Saturday’s win.

Avi Zaleon of the IDS writes that that victory was for Hoosier Nation, which has struggled through three tough years.

Myron Medcalf of ESPN couldn’t help but think about race while watching that brawl on Saturday.

With only a couple of multi-game suspensions given, Brennan says it wasn’t enough following the nasty brawl.

  1. JPat – Same here. I thought 15-20 was where IU would end up, but figured the coaches poll would rank us higher than the AP. Rankings don’t really mean anything in the long run, but still a nice feather in the cap for the team.

  2. Wait..You said #18 in “coaches poll.” Never mind. You were two places off in the Coaches Poll and Harvard was only one off in the AP(I predicted 17th in AP). I win.

  3. Good win and all, but what we really need are some “gangsters” on this team to take it to the next level. Not thugs, just gangsters. Glad that assclown decided to take his talents to Xavier after Kelvin “the cheater” Sampson got his ass run out of town.
