IU RecruitWatch: Weekend recap and sectional look-ahead


Yogi Ferrell (Park Tudor): Ferrell had the week off before sectionals after Park Tudor finished with a 18-2 record in the regular season. His team plays Marshall on Feb. 28.

Ron Patterson (Broad Ripple): Patterson put up an impressive 23-point effort for the Rockets against Jeremy Hollowell’s Lawrence Central team. Broad Ripple takes on Shortridge at home tomorrow night.

Jeremy Hollowell (Lawrence Central): In his matchup with Patterson, Hollowell had a monster effort, scoring 18 points and pulling down 19 rebounds in a win for LC. The Bears will get one of the hardest first round matchups in any sectional, as they take on Trey Lyles’ Tech team on Feb. 28.

Hanner Perea (La Lumiere): Perea helped La Lumiere hammer North Chicago in Saturday’s senior night, scoring 15 points in the win.

Peter Jurkin (UFCA): UFCA is all done for this season, considering its barred from the postseason tournament.


Collin Hartman (Cathedral): Hartman had an impressive 24-point effort in a 35-point win over Cedar Grove. Cathedral plays a solid Lawrence North team in the first round tomorrow night.

Devin Davis (Warren Central): Davis had the week off before the postseason.  He and Warren Central will play the winner of the Tech-Lawrence Central game in a marquee Friday matchup.

Luke Fischer (Germantown, WI): Fischer’s Germantown team finished the regular season undefeated and look to be one of the favorites for a Wisconsin state title. In his second game back from injury, he scored a solid 15 points.

BeeJay Anya (DeMatha, MD): Anya started postseason play with DeMatha by scoring 14 points in a 80-63 win in the first round.


Trey Lyles (Arsenal Tech): Lyles came away with one of his typical double-doubles in Tech’s final game win. Tech will host Lawrence Central tomorrow night in the state’s marquee

James Blackmon Jr. (Bishop Luers): Blackmon Jr. is out for the season with a knee injury.

Jaquan Lyle (Evansville Bosse): Lyle had 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists in a Bosse win, while Louisville coach Rick Pitino looked on. Bosse opens in the 3A sectional against Gibson Southern.

Cliff Alexander (Chicago Curie): Alexander and Curie were off this week. Alexander opens up the postseason tomorrow.

Trevon Bluiett (Park Tudor): The week off for Park Tudor meant the week off for Bluiett. He opens up against Marshall tomorrow.

Aaron Brennan (Guerin Catholic): He had nine points in Guerin’s last win. Brennan and Guerin Catholic open up against Mt. Vernon (Fortville).

Grant Evans (Wapahani): Evans had a solid game-high 22 points in Wapahani’s 11-point win over Shenandoah. Wapahani opens up against Muncie Burris in the 2A sectionals tomorrow.
