Baseball coach Tracy Smith won his 500th career game Sunday, but he’s more impressed with how his team is playing, Dustin wrote.

Linebacker Jeff Thomas got an invite to rookie camp with the Buffalo Bills, Dustin also wrote.

2. IT’S (THE STATE OF) INDIANA
Butler basketball is poised to leave the Horizon League and join the Atlantic 10 Conference, but nothing is yet official, David Woods of the Indianapolis Star reports.

The Purdue women’s basketball will have five Miss Basketballs from five different states on the roster next year, the Lafayette Journal & Courier reports.

Purdue baseball is projected as a regional host, while Indiana State is a borderline NCAA team, according to SB Nation.

3. BIG TEN COUNTRY
Michigan basketball recruit Austin Hatch of Fort Wayne is making a remarkable recovery from the plane crash that killed his father and stepmother, Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press writes.

Transfers are all the rage in college basketball, and there may not be much anyone can do to stem the tide, Terry Hutchens of the Indianapolis Star writes.
