Recruiting stories written by other people

There’s lots of basketball recruiting tidbits flying around these days, and the folks who live and breathe this stuff are doing a much better job of keeping up with it all than I am. So I’ll just link to them.

Alex Kline at the Recruit Scoop is reporting that Indiana just offered a scholarship to Obi Enechionyia, a 6-foot-8, 220-pounder from Saint James School in Saint James, Md.

Yesterday, we linked to a story about Charlotte N.C. center Kennedy Meeks’ recent in-home visit from Tom Crean. Alex Bozich’s story from Inside The Hall was linked this morning. Here’s Zach Osterman at Inside Indiana’s take. Meeks said he is looking to take an official visit to Indiana.

Adam Zagoria reported earlier today that Troy Williams, a small forward from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, will take a visit to Indiana for Hoosier Hysteria the weekend of Oct. 20. Justin Albers of Inside the Hall confirmed that in this story. As has been stated elsewhere, both reported that DeMatha Catholic forward BeeJay Anya will also be taking an official visit that weekend as well committed guard Stanford Robinson.

  1. Thanks for the links.

Harvard has ruined this place otherwise.

Just like Limbaugh, he doesn’t believe 90% of the crap he says and only does it for attention.

I stopped reading this place almost entirely.

No big loss, I know, but I doubt I’m the only one.

  2. I like the underlying point you make, Dustin, that way too much time and energy is spent on keeping track of the recruitment of folks who are pretty remotely connected to the IU basketball team. These are people who may (and perhaps very likely will) never play for Indiana.

And, for what it is worth, I would respectfully differ with Laffy’s comment above. His comments are typically excellent, so this is no knock on him. But if I don’t want to read any particular individual, I just skip that individual. And that is the reason, by the way, that I never skip a Laffy comment!

This whole issue reminds me of someone who used to comment a bunch on the various IU Boards who went by the username “4guards” if memory serves and who used to put down Crean constantly – even, one might say, “religiously.”

I’d either read 4guards and laugh or just skip him. He eventually tired of the game and I don’t think I’ve seen his username in quite a while.

Keep up the good work, Dustin. You do a great job.

  3. That is because Harvard is 4gaurds. I also agree with Laffy. Reason why I rarely come to this site. Ashame one individual has to ruin it for everyone.

  4. Really miss that Reggie kid. What happened to him? He really stood up to Harvard (and made him look like an idiot) when he made fun of his beliefs.

  5. It’s impossible to “skip Harvard” in the format this place has…..especially when most people respond to his nonsense.

And I wouldn’t doubt one bit if he were 4guardretard.

    Nothing but a phony attention-whore.

  6. I guess a lot of adults are really kids then! Reggie was a good guy… kid whatever. I wish him the best. Basketball season can’t start soon enough!
