Because it’s Monday, and on Monday IU makes up a depth chart

As always, this comes with the caveat that Kevin Wilson says the depth chart doesn’t matter.

The shifting dynamic of the linebacker position has forced some moves at that spot. Forisse “Flo” Hardin is listed as the starting strong side linebacker ahead of Jacarri Alexander, but that’s obviously because Alexander didn’t make the trip to Saturday’s game at Navy because of a stinger. However, Chase Hoobler — who has been out since Week 2 with a nerve issue in his neck/back — is back on the depth chart as the backup middle linebacker.

Greg Heban and Mark Murphy are listed as the starting safeties. Antonio Marshall and Brian Williams are still the starting corners, though it appears Kenny Mullen and Lawrence Barnett switched backup spots at corner. Barnett is now listed as the backup on the left side, Mullen the backup on the right.

Collin Rahrig is listed as the starting left guard ahead of Bernard Taylor, who didn’t make the trip because of a wrist injury. Taylor is expected to return this week with a club on his hand, and could win that job back as well.

Also, Cameron Coffman remains listed as the starting quarterback, but we’ll presume at this point that the battle with Nate Sudfeld rages on and the true freshman remains capable of taking that job.

The rest of the depth chart follows.

  1. Dustin,

Any idea why Kofi Hughes and Cody Latimer are not on the field more? Over the last few games, they’ve made some big time catches, but it often seems that on important drives (or important plays like 3rd downs) that Wilson and/or Stoner are out there instead. Am I just imagining this, or is there something more involved?

  2. Bachman wore #80 on Saturday; Kaminski and Ivan were the 9th and 10th OL. Also, I think Rayner didn’t make the trip to Annapolis.

  3. Offense does not seem to be the problem until the fourth quarter. Then this young team begins having trouble moving the ball. But oh how I miss Tre these days. Having his running ability in the fourth quarter of these close games would make a huge difference.
