Hoosier Morning

1. HOOSIERS HQ
Defense continues to be a focus for the IU basketball team in early-season practices, Dustin writes.

The Indiana soccer team plays four of its final five regular-season games at home, starting tonight, with the hopes of earning more home games for the postseason, I wrote.

Bob Knight is auctioning off some things — including his NCAA championship rings from Indiana, the Associated Press reports.

2. IT’S INDIANA
Former IU commit Trey Lyles talks Big Blue Madness and says he has had no contact with the Hoosiers lately, Kyle Neddenriep of the Indianapolis Star writes.

Cody Zeller is the preseason player of the year and first team All-Solid Gold, ESPN’s Dick Vitale blogs.

3. TOBACCO ROAD
Redshirt freshman Marshall Plumlee, a Warsaw, Ind. native, will miss 6-8 weeks for Duke, Laura Keeley of the Raleigh News & Observer blogs.

An aging Roy Williams and Mike Krzyzewski are part of a coaching shift in the college basketball landscape, Mike Lopresti of USA Today writes.

4. ONE FOR THE ROAD
Bob Knight may be selling rings, but I’ve got Live, “Selling the Drama.”

  1. So yesterday comes the news that Knight is selling his IU Championship rings. Today the news is he is covering 2 KY games for ESPN. Can’t wait till Wed.

  2. Laura Keeley is either disingenuous or just ignorant of the fact the Bros. Plumlee have not used a Warsaw zip code to receive mail for a hell of a long time. But with the rise of Indiana in the BB world I am not surprised of wanting to connect an association.

  3. HC,

Did you read the article? It does not include anything about Warsaw or Indiana in it. I would say Jeremy Price is responsible for that association.

  4. What has has happened to the commitment of JUCO DE Demetrius Hill? Scout still has him listed on their commitment list and Rivals does not.

  5. It doesn’t appear Indiana will get back into the mix.

“There hasn’t been any contact with them at all,” he said.

Not surprisingly, Lyles is no longer a favorite of Indiana fans, some of which reach out to him on social media to voice their displeasure.

“It was hard at first, but that’s life,” he said. “People will hate you or love you either way it goes. I got over it.”

  6. Very good Aruss, you can copy and paste from an article. Next step is forming a logical thought around what you copied and typing it out. I won’t hold my breath though.

  7. I have an idea, Coach Knight can take his rings, medals, sport coats and anything else he digs and shove it up his ass? How does that sound? (sorry Dustin)
