Louisville’s Jurich interested in home-and-homes with Indiana in both football, basketball

According to the Twitter feeds of former Louisville Courier Journal reporters Jody Demling (now with Scout.com) and Eric Crawford (now with the Louisville television station WDRB), Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich said at a press conference today that he is interested in creating home-and-home series with Indiana in both football and basketball, calling the construction of a rivalry “a no-brainer.”

Indiana has only played Louisville in football twice in history, beating the Cardinals in 1985 and 1986. The IU basketball squad last played Louisville in 2003. Indiana has a 10-6 advantage in the all-time series.

  1. We got nothin’ to lose. If we can’t get a date to the prom with the hottest one-and-done girl in the class(UK), then we might as well bury our pride and look forward to a roll in the hey with her feistier cute cousin.

Indiana and Louisville could turn into quite the sexy couple. Let the “neutral” bitch with all the superficial makeup prance around as the virgin queen her new game. She’ll end up lonely, fat, and living in a double-wide.

  2. After wading through the neck-deep metaphorical swamp of H for H’s response, I think I agree. The image of KY as a lonely, fat, overly made-up trailer park virgin is a vision that’s disturbing and amusing in equal parts. But I guess we don’t have to go to her door if we just play Louisville, so that seems like a good option.

  3. Louisville offered to play us this year-but CTC said no thanks.CTC has no love for Pitino-going back to Marquette days.

  4. Sounds like a great H-H, alternatig with Indy every third year for bb, with fb @ Indy every year on Thursday night after our bye. pUKe will be a distant memory, especially after cal3.

  5. Louisville needs games like this. With the talented teams leaving to the ACC, that conference has taken a huge quality hit. What really needs to happen is the NCAA should ban Calipari from collegiate sports and let IU/UK play like we have for years.

  6. We’d be trading one egomaniacal cheater for an egomaniacal adulterous scumbag. We don’t need either of these programs. Why don’t we schedule home and home series with PAC 12 teams so we can get the kids used to playing games a couple of time zones away, demonstrate our basketball prowess to different parts of the country, and enhance our recruiting in the western third of the country. Arizona, UCLA, Stanford, USC and Washington would make for great games. Gonzaga, while not a PAC 12 team, is always tough and would provide great exposure. Those programs appear to be clean and their coaches seem to be honorable men (at least compared to Calipari and Pitino).

  7. Pitino knows more about basketball than Calislimi could imagine. IMHO. Pitino was probably OK before he went to Lexington and was baptized in slime.

  8. Louisville frequently appears to have extremely athletic teams teams..The defensive pressure and pace would be great preparation and confidence building that could translate to the month of March. We were very fortunate to get by VCU.

I also like Podunker’s thoughts on traveling west..But won’t we potentially meet UCLA in New York this year? And isn’t UCLA fairly high in the preseason rankings? UCLA vs. IU would be a great series to rekindle. We’ve had some heated battles in the tournament throughout the decades going all the way back to Wooden vs. Knight…Walton vs. Downing. Really hoping we get a game with UCLA in the Legends Classic.

“Baptism in slime”….That was funny. Chet just ‘Harnessed the Zest.’

  9. I think the point was to suggest creating another high quality “home and home” series with a team that is not coached by scumbags. Bringing good PAC-12 teams into Bloomington and taking IU’s team to those Pac-12 campus arenas would be beneficial. I assure you, no PAC-12 basketball stadium can compare to the electricity (and noise) that is produced by the fans that fill Assembly Hall for a good game. As for USC, yes, they had their scandal and a period of corruption in basketball, but like IU, they got a new AD and a new coach and have apparently cleaned up their act (I suspect they still cheat in football recruiting, but that’s another story). But since USC is not a top PAC-12 BB team, I would prefer IU play AZ, UCLA, Stanford or Washington. Creating more exposure for IU would be good for the university and all other Indiana sports.

  10. Is Patino getting the title of “scumbag” because he cheated on his wife?

Clinton put a cigar up an intern in the oval office. Now he’s the poster child to save the election for Barack.

Pitino married his wife, the former Joanne Minardi, in 1976. They have five living children: Michael, Christopher, Richard (now the head coach at FIU),[14] Ryan and Jacqueline. Another son, Daniel, died in 1987 from congenital heart failure at the age of six months. Rick and Joanne established the Daniel Pitino Foundation (along with a Daniel Pitino shelter in Owensboro, Kentucky) in his memory, which has raised millions of dollars for children in need

Hard to imagine any team we schedule could have a coach as saintly as Tom Crean. They’re all scumbags when placed in such scrutiny his holiness. The rest of the flawed world all make mistakes I guess..It does appear Patino has turned some of his personal losses into good.

I’ve noticed a ton of cheers returned to Tiger Woods on golf courses of late. Who gets the hold the measuring stick of right ant wrong as it pertains to the dollars a bottom line for ESPN?

Tiger gets to be a hero for f*#$ing anything that walks. Kelvin Sampson gets Alcatraz for a too many 3-way calls to Robbie Hummel.

  11. oops. Who get [to] hold the measuring stick…

    Bring on scumbags
Bring on NBA farms to play at neutral sites
Bring on bounty hunters and Saints named Drew from Purdue
Hoosiers will stand tall and proud like Hoosiers always do.
It’s not one coach that carries the decent and undaunted spirit of candy-stripes
When dark is the night amongst the muck of hype and temptations of shallow quick delights
It’s the young men that come for something different than limelight and selfish pursuits that keep us forever true.

There is nothing so despicable in dishonor its shadow to shield our brightness upon any stage.

  12. Cheated on his wife with the wife of one of his employees. Yep, that qualifies him as a scumbag.
