Zeller named Sporting News Preseason Player of the Year

Indiana’s Cody Zeller was named Preseason Player of the Year by the Sporting News. He’s joined by Creighton’s Doug McDermott, North Carolina’s James Michael McAdoo, Ohio State’s DeShaun Thomas and Lehigh’s C.J. McCollum on the preseason first-team All-America squad.

  1. No consideration to Watford? Guess more fuel again this year. It is funny that Zeller didnt even make a team a year ago but this year he mentioned right away. Just have to laugh and Go Hoosiers!!

  2. That’s an interesting 1st Team tho…

Thomas is a highly criticized player. McAdoo didn’t even start last year. The other 3 make perfect sense, but I’m surprised Isaiah Canaan didn’t get a nod, especially considering he was a 1st Team selection for the Sporting News at the end of last year, and no worse than a 2nd Team on any other list.

  3. OK, I’m officially tired of all the talk. We’re going to be great, Cody’s going to be great, Jordy, Watford, Oladipo, Sheehey, the freshmen, they’re all going to be great. Crean’s great. Enough. Let’s play.

  4. Kurk1 – the calendar determines when we play… I’m wondering why you’re here reading if you don’t care until the season officially starts? Enough? Why even comment?

  5. Geoff, sorry if I sounded like I’m anxious for the season to start. I’ll get off ‘your’ website now; you can continue your in-depth analysis of all 211 Division I teams.

  6. It’s not my website. Duh…

Please show me the last post about a 2011 team.

You didn’t sound like you’re anxious. You sound like you’re annoyed by the coverage and comments. Thus, my criticism.
