The Sporting news named Indiana junior guard Victor Oladipo to its first-team All-America squad along with Michigan’s Trey Burke, Gonzaga’s Kelly Olynyk, Oklahoma State’s Marcus Smart and Georgetown’s Otto Porter. The second team included Kansas’s Jeff Withey, UCLA’s Shabazz Muhammad, Ohio State’s Deshaun Thomas, Creighton’s Doug McDermott and Duke’s Seth Curry. Indiana sophomore center Cody Zeller made the third team and was joined by Louisville’s Russ Smith, Kansas’s Ben McLemore, California’s Allen Crabbe, and Miami’s Shane Larkin.

Interesting… Personally I think it’s a tad off. Crabbe is a really strange selection. Is he related to the author? He plays on a mediocre team in a mediocre conference. He doesn’t lead the country in scoring or even come close… Just odd.
Here would be mine:
First Team:
Burke
Dipo
Smart
Porter
Olynyk (although I think Zeller is better)
Second Team:
Curry
Smith
McLemore
Zeller
Plumlee
Third Team:
Larkin
Carter-Williams
Thomas
McDermott
Withey
If I were going to have a wild card pick I’d go with someone like Erick Green or the Kendall Willams kid instead of Crabbe…
Shabazz Muhammad ?? Really? I didn’t know he had that good of a year going.
Geoff, your 2nd team is a great bunch of picks.
Wasn’t Zeller pres-season POY? What did he fail to do that dropped him to 3rd team All American?
Come on Podunker… He was supposed to average 22 & 11… I mean how can IU be any good if he doesn’t dominate?
