In case you missed it, IU has a busy weekend of visitors

Today’s been a pretty packed day, and a lot went on earlier that we’re just getting up on here now, and that includes some interesting recruiting info.

First, some news we actually broke on Twitter (it’s probably been a year or more since I’ve had anything resembling a recruiting scoop, so I felt the need to point this out) James Blackmon Jr. will take an unofficial visit to Indiana on Saturday, which signifies that despite his de-commit, Indiana is still interested and Blackmon is still interested in Indiana.

Of course, Blackmon will also have company. Robert Johnson of Benedictine High School in Richmond, Va., had already announced that he will visit IU. So too will New York City guard Isaiah Whitehead, New Jersey guard Malachi Richardson and Kyle Wilkes, a 2017 forward from North Central.

Also, Devin Robinson, a forward from Virginia, has announced that he will take his official visit on Oct. 4.

That info is according to several of the more connected recruiting reporters on the beat. Inside the Hall reporter Jordan Littman has a detailed rundown of all the latest recruiting happenings here.

  1. This is a thought that no one else has mentioned as to why JBJr decomited. I think(more wishful thinking)he did this on purpose to allow IU to pull in another great guard(Johnson etc.) that wouldn’t have committed to IU if JBJr was coming for sure. After another guard commits, JBJr will recommit. This will give IU a perfect combination of guards for the future (Yogi is still the man for a while, but needs help). JBJr is THAT COMMITED to IU… we just don’t know the real story yet.
