IU women fall out of AP Top 25

Indiana dropped out of the latest Associated Press Top 25 women’s basketball poll released Monday.

The Hoosiers’ fall from the rankings comes two days after dropping their first game of the season, a 70-51 defeat to Ohio State at Assembly Hall. The loss ended Indiana’s program-best 14-game winning streak.

This week’s AP poll features only three Big Ten teams in the top 25. Penn State sits at No. 16, Nebraska is No. 18 and Purdue occupies Indiana’s former spot at No. 22. IU, Michigan State, Iowa and Michigan were among 12 other teams receiving votes.

Indiana returns to the floor Wednesday, when it travels to Wisconsin (8 p.m.) for the team’s first Big Ten road game of the season.
