  1. I always love the old cliche of having to do the ‘little things.’ If you’re running on all cylinders and playing like a team, sometimes putting the ball in the bucket is the little thing. I wish someday one of these would say that they’re into doing the big things: defending, closing quickly on a perimeter threat, making solid cuts and crisp passes, crashing glass, communicating, anticipating the blindside attempts to steal the ball, getting early position on the defensive boards, making the freebies from the charity stripe, etc. 9/10 college ballers can hit the open shut….It’s not such a spectacular thing other than the false security that a foolish shot drained and more points next to your name made makes you a better team player. The banners in Assembly are the result of a philosophy that little things ain’t so little.

Much like dating….A one night stand and big score is too often the measure of success. But families take real stars that stick around to read to their kids and help with the dishes. Love takes little things and makes them eternal.
