IU women’s soccer signs nine

This came out last night, but the Indiana women’s soccer team inked its first recruiting class under head coach Amy Berbary on Wednesday. Here’s the official release:

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University Women’s Soccer head coach Amy Berbary announced the Hoosiers 2014 signing class on Wednesday. The Hoosiers added players from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Guatemala and Canada in the signing class.

“Hoosier fans should be very excited about the new talent coming to Bloomington,” Berbary said. “This class has instant impact potential and gives us a large amount of depth after losing six starters due to graduation. We are thrilled to see these nine athletic and versatile players join our returning group and help build on the success of the 2013 campaign.”

Indiana went 15-7-1 overall and 6-5 in the Big Ten in 2013, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. The 15 victories set a new school record for wins in a season and the team also set new program marks for goals scored, assists and shutouts in a season.
