Indiana takes doubleheader from Ohio State, sweeps series

Indiana catcher Kyle Schwarber and designated hitter Scott Donley homered to lead the Hoosiers to an 8-2 win over Ohio State in the first game of a Big Ten doubleheader Sunday and third baseman Dustin DeMuth homered to help lead Indiana to a 7-1 win in the second game. The victories gave the Hoosiers a three-game sweep in the series and a 5-1 record through the first two weekends of Big Ten play.

First baseman Sam Travis also drove in a pair of runs in the first win. Left-hander Kyle Hart left the game after four innings with a forearm strain, but left-handed reliever Will Coursen-Carr pitched five innings of scoreless relief.

Right-hander Christian Morris allowed just one run in 7 2/3 innings in the second game of the doubleheader. DeMuth and Donley both drove in a pair of runs and Travis was 4-for-5 with a run scored.
