IU women to open Big Ten Tournament against Michigan

Sunday’s 76-56 loss at Michigan State in the regular season finale dropped Indiana into the No. 10 seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.

That means the Hoosiers will open tournament play against No. 7 seed Michigan on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse. The winner will face the Spartans on Friday at 6:30 p.m. By beating IU, Michigan State clinched a share of the conference championship, which it will share with Penn State.

Indiana was competitive with a rebuilding Wolverines team that won the only meeting between the teams, 70-58, on Feb. 19 at Assembly Hall.
