Bottom 12th: Casey Rodrigue hit a fly ball over the center fielder’s head to bring Will Nolden in from third to give IU a 2-1 win, the Hoosiers’ second walk-off win this weekend. Nolden drew a walk to lead off the inning, moved to second on a bunt and to third on a single by Chad Clark. IU improves to 24-11. More to come.

Top 11th: Michigan State put two runners on in the 11th thanks to a walk and an error by IU shortstop Chad Clark and appeared to have loaded the bases on a ground ball by MSU center fielder Anthony Cheky. Third baseman Dustin DeMuth made a nice play to field it and Sam Travis made a nice pick at first to field to throw, but the first base umpire ruled initially that Travis had stepped off the bag. After Tracy Smith came out to argue the call, umpires met and reversed it, giving the Hoosiers the out and ended the inning. Michigan State’s coaching staff proceeded to argue and MSU’s first base coach was immediately thrown out of the game.

Bottom 10th: Sam Travis reached with a two-out single but was caught stealing to end the inning. Still tied 1-1 going to the 11th

Top 10th: Michigan State’s Anthony Cheky lined a single off IU pitcher Scott Effross for a single to start the inning, then moved to second on a bunt. On to extras, tied 1-1.

Top 9th: Nick Ramos and Will Nolden made phenomenal defensive plays to get Indiana through the top of the ninth. Catcher Joel Fisher singled down the right field line with two outs, but Nolden got to it quickly to hold him at first. Johnny Nate then hit a liner in the hole, but Ramos made a diving play to catch it on one hop and threw from his knees to force Fisher at second base. Bottom 4th: IU’s Sam Travis flared a line drive to right field with one out that MSU’s Jimmy Pickens tried to make a diving play on. It fell in front of him and then bounced over him when he was on the ground, allowing Travis to go for a triple. IU’s Scott Donley followed with a bloop single to left field to bring Travis in. Donley was thrown out trying for second. Dustin DeMuth drew a walk and MSU second baseman Johnny Nate botched a line drive off the bat of Brad Hartong that allowed DeMuth to go to third and Hartong to second, but Will Nolden grounded out to end the inning.
